🦋 yes, it's #internationalwomensday 〰️ but, this *week* (between news) I’ll share the work of a few women i have come to know. if you've been to East Harlem, then you've likely seen the work of my friend @naomirag, a crochet #streetartist who labors in love to brighten up her community. it's been a tough year for everyone, but her work reminds us of how tight knit communities get us thru (and it also literally can keep you warm 🧥 peep her hoodies ✌🏾 ☮️ ). cheers to you naomi. xo

🏦cash bail 🏦 - what is it, and why do so many people want to end it? in our show, we discuss how + why #Illinois became the first state in the country to eliminate #cashbail. critics of cash bail have long said the practice keeps poor people in jail for months awaiting trial. i spoke with Sharone Mitchell, Jr., the director of #IllinoisJusticeProject, about the legislation, prison, reform, and where we go from here.
